Two migrating birds were found roosting in the habitat but because of human intervention such as hunting for “appetizer”, and gun shooting to disturb the herons because they feed on fish products in neighboring fishponds; they vanished rapidly. The abundance of fruit bats in the area result to fruit bearing trees because of seed dispersal. Also, colorful butterflies, local birds, elongated and legless snakes and camouflage geckos were everywhere. Furthermore, there were 18 species of trees in the sanctuary but human activities like “kaingin” can cause deforestation. In addition, the sanctuary is the source of portal water in the municipality.
