Abstract

The role of capitalism is evolving and there is an increasing focus on understanding more holistically how investors are generating returns. Asset owners increasingly want to understand the organizations their assets are invested in. The role of ESG/Climate data is becoming central to both the research and portfolio management process. Melissa will discuss these industry trends and her journey from equities portfolio management to investment technology. A look at how cloud computing and AI will support and innovate the investment process for financial services firms. Moving to the cloud and building analytics capabilities on top of large data sets has made it easier to gain insights into how organizations operate. There is a push in the investment community to embrace Environmental, Social and Governance standards and ratings. The technology supporting this data is what will form the future backbone of innovation in the financial services industry.
