Abstract

This project is aimed at developing the work of various civil engineering projects such as road construction. Road construction is one element of infrastructure which is used to boost the economies of countries. So, in this project, we analyze and design road using Mx road software, which connects the main road of Debre Berhan to Adiss Abeba to the industry zone through the Tebbassie Health Center. The design is done based on ERA design manual. In this project, we select the best alignment from the alternative center line of the given surveying data, which is then processed by Mx road software. Based on the terrain type of the best route alignment and the traffic volume, DC-5 road, which function as a main access road is designed. Under geometric design part horizontal and vertical curves, cross-section, and pavement design, in accordance with operational efficiency, safety, economy, and earthwork are done with the support of Mx software. Finally, the output the project includes horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, earthwork, drainage, as well structural layer thickness and mass haul diagram.
