Blockchain Adoption Issues and Improvements

Abstract

Blockchain is an open, decentralized technology that promises a mechanism to establish trust between participating organizations via an immutable (permanent) distributed digital ledger. However, adoption of Blockchain has been slow because of technical complexities and lack luster performance. This study investigates these issues and provides examples of recent improvements in the technology that will make Blockchain more palatable to a variety of organizations.
