Building Capacity to Advance Health: Organizational Change Management

Abstract

The influence of managers’ leadership competencies, as well as their emotional and managerial skills, define the project’s success, but the type of organization and its functional success are influenced by other competencies. The aim of this project is to focus on the development and succession planning of companies would give opportunities to the managers to pay close attention to the skills required for leadership positions along with an educational enhancement. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas has undertaken an ambitious organizational evaluation project for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in recent years and has encountered different levels of challenges and success in their execution. As part of the process evaluation, key objectives are to use evaluation data to inform programming policies and practices. For many organizations, the role of change management has a significant part in determining the effectiveness of the process. The objective of this report is to provide a clear and concise overview of the most effective methods and insights gained from change management. The proposal was given to an organization in Nevada that experienced a health equity challenge in the communities to which it provides services for community needs. Change management in the community organization can be unsuccessful due to the presence of intricate infrastructures that impede effective communication among a geographically scattered and extensive group. This is especially accurate when change originates from the upper echelons and is anticipated to cascade down to staff who directly interact with customers in a service-oriented environment.
