Abstract
Smart engineering design and climate solutions play a major role in making innovation progress to address sustainability agendas. In the current scenario of sustainable development and for companies to be aligned to climate targets, innovation is greatly needed to address the complex problems while adapting to the needs of good governance. This research showcases specific examples of European policies, whereby the principles and approaches undertaken had proceeded to drive innovation specifically in smart engineering and climate-oriented technologies. By effective governance of European policies for the aims of climate and environmental impact, the responses in innovation so far proved to be increasingly active in the diverse economic sectors such as circular economy, energy efficiency, sustainable cities, biodiversity, clean transport, land-use management, sustainable business models, due diligence practices, and digitalization.
