Exploring Secondary Teachers' Perspectives on Climate Change Education: Initial Findings of a Systematic Review

Abstract

We are pleased to share the initial findings of our systematic literature review, aimed at identifying and synthesizing research outcomes published in journals indexed by WOS or Scopus, with a focus on the viewpoints and perspectives of secondary education educators regarding the integration of climate change education. Our research followed the PRISMA protocol, which was thoughtfully adapted to the field of educational research, and was supported by the CADIMA software. The results reveal the discovery of 37 documents that met our inclusion criteria within the timeframe of 2002 to 2022. A total of 82 researchers actively participated, as authors, in this study compilation, with approximately half of the research originating from institutions in the United States. We include insights from bibliometric and methodological analyses, providing a comprehensive characterization of the current landscape pertaining to this specific audience and the realm of climate change education.
