Abstract
In agreement with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) program set by UNESCO, higher education institutions have the responsibility to train professionals in cross-cutting key competences for sustainability, to affront the foreseeable changes in every field (ecology, society, economics). This study analyzes the presence of these competences in university degrees of a selected sample of two blended-learning universities from Spain and Portugal. The methodology used is the interview and the results show a growing interest in this topic at the university level, but it has been shown that these competencies are not yet sufficiently integrated into academic curricula. Further studies could analyze the integration of these competencies at other university levels (master’s degree, doctorate).
