Description

The Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL) sees trees as a crucial element of the urban space and an essential part of the city's sustainability policies and practices. During the activity, it will be introduced why trees are essential for the city and its dwellers, what are the main points of tree management, how we decide to remove trees, why is the way of tree care important, how we can preserve old trees for as long as possible. Additionally, the Tree of the year project, where the residents can nominate their favorite tree, and other initiatives that strengthen the bond between the local population and their environment will be discussed. The tour will be guided by Mr. Nejc Praznik (ISA Certified Arborist ® ML – 0389A), Mrs. dr. Lena Marion (ISA Certified Arborist, ML-0334A), Mrs. Petja Pirnat (Senior advisor in Unit of Green areas management and public Space Cleaning, Commercial Activities and Traffic Department, City of Ljubljana).
