Abstract
The United Nations (UN) adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, setting a 15-year course to build a better world and protect the planet. SDG 16 is to, “ significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere” (UN, 2019).establishes the foundation for economic development and prosperity, “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels” (UN, 2019). This study considers this goal to address a number of broad targets to promote inclusion and respect, eliminate discrimination, and halt the marginalization of children and women.
