Abstract
This outdoor workshop will use a combination of place-based education strategies and principles to allow learners to discover meaningful ways of connecting to the natural world; by immersing oneself in place, engaging the senses, and practicing mindfulness as we facilitate a dialogue around the need for sustainability education. Participants will be guided through a place-based activity to understand connections between culture, ecology, and spirituality. This engaging activity could be easily replicated within your own school and community to stimulate place-based inquiry.
