Old Testament Hermeneutics and Environmental Education

Abstract

The study presents an approximation between critical environmental education and the hermeneutics of some excerpts from the Old Testament texts of the Bible. The environment is widely described in the sacred scriptures and this must be fully explored to assist in the cross-cutting character of environmental education. It is essential to point out that this study did not go deeply into theological hermeneutics, tending more towards the pursuit of environmental hermeneutics, but theological hermeneutics, ie, interpretation, served as the basis for tracing the approximation of biblical texts with environmental education. consequently with the pedagogical praxis. Thus, the main objective is to support theoretical support for the propagation of school and non-school environmental education by broadening the pedagogical view of environmental criticality, thus formulating the problem for the research that was: The environmental principles described in sacred scripture can collaborate with the pedagogical performance in contemporary times? And in order to reach the proposed objectives, the methodological profile that draws on the bibliographic and documentary survey was traced, having as data analysis the sample with a qualitative approach.
