Abstract
This project proposes the development of a shared ride application, named University Transportation ( T.U.), which seeks to reduce the difficulties of locomotion that students from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) face to go to its campuses, consequently contributing to the environment. With the idealization of the project, it is intended to significantly reduce the time spent commuting and to increase the average number of people per car at the university, relieving the crowding of public transportation, still inefficient in Brazil, and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. The shared ride system benefit both the driver, through the division of expenses and the security of being always accompanied, as well as the passenger, who get a facilitated, cheaper, safer and more comfort trip. In addition, the system enables developments in the interpersonal relationships of those who are involved, promoting the integration between different courses of the university and improving sociability through conversation. The project also follows as a reference the 17 Sustainable Development Objectives of UN, covering four of these goals: 9, 11, 12 and 13.
