Behavioural Climate Policies: The Potential of Green Nudges

Abstract

Demand side policies such as “nudging” are increasingly used in climate policy to change consumer lifestyles towards more sustainability, with the aim to mitigate climate change. We present empirical evidence based on representative online surveys regarding whether people approve of such “green nudges”. We cover about 30 countries worldwide, including the Global South. We also present the results of a systematic literature review on the very subject conducted in 2019.
