"The Climate Science and Policy Implications of Chile´s Mega-drought" Maisa Rojas is director of the Chilean Centre for Climate Science and Resilience (CR)2 and researcher in the Millennium Nucleus on Paleoclimate. She is an associate professor in the Department of Geophysics at the Universidad of Chile and has a PhD in atmospheric sciences from the University of Oxford. Her expertise in climatology lies in analysis of climatic variability and climate projections in Chile, and her work includes participation in the Fifth Assessment Report of the IPCC as a lead author on the paleoclimate chapter and in the Summary for Policymakers. During 2019, she has presided over the Scientific Committee of the Chilean Ministry of Science in the preparations for COP25. Maisa Rojas es la Directora del Centro de Investigación de Ciencia del Clima y la Resiliencia (CR)2 e investigadora del Núcleo Milenio de Paleoclima. Es profesora asociada en el Departamento de Geofísica de la Universidad de Chile y tiene un doctorado en Ciencias Atmosféricas de la Universidad de Oxford. Es climatóloga, experta en variabilidad climática como en la generación de proyecciones de cambio climático para Chile. Su trabajo incluye también la participación en el Quinto Informe del IPCC como autora principal del capítulo paleoclimático y del resumen para tomadores de decisión. Durante el año 2019, se encuentra presidiendo el Comité Científico del Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología, Conocimiento e Innovación en preparación para la COP25.
