Eduverse: Changing Paradigms in Fashion Education

Abstract

The Metaverse incorporates the immersive benefits of online technology to achieve a digital approach to learning in Higher Education, and within it, ‘sub-verses’ are being born, i.e. Eduverse System(ES). Educational Institutions see more investment in the Metaverse and are now looking to apply platforms such as the ES to current practices in teaching, learning and training. A paramount goal of this transition is to make development opportunities available to all humans, and to take the first major step in its journey to generating equality in education and learning in India. The Post-Pandemic time has witnessed an increased demand for implementing socialisation into remote learning, however, employing Eduverse for classroom teaching and learning, will not be a quick process, and comes with many challenges. This study aims to investigate the learner’s perceptions towards integration of Eduverse System with current pedagogical practices at all 5 campuses of Pearl Academy in India. The research model embraces the adoption of four variables that consider diverse aspects of this predicted migration by Higher Education Learners i.e. Willingness, Perception Convenience and Capability that will help gauge student responses in relation to level of satisfaction and intention to adopt ES. Empirical conclusions are calculated by means of an online questionnaire using 5-point Likert Scale, considering a sample size of 500 students from both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs offered at Pearl Academy. Factor and Regression Analysis tools, including weighted average score and mean score help to analyse findings and to ascertain the level of satisfaction in students.
