Facilitating Global Learning Among Rural Online Students : Best Practices for Success

Abstract

Rural online students face particular challenges along their journeys toward global learning. In this study, we explore those challenges. We also consider a variety of tools which have been used successfully by the presenter to assist rural online students in building the motivation and skills needed to embrace global learning. Examples from chemistry, astronomy, environmental science, and other disciplines are used to highlight our global interconnectedness and inspire thoughtful activities for rural online students.
