Creation of a Virtual Field Education Course for Social Work during COVID-19

Abstract

The COVID 19 pandemic brought traditional agency based field education to a standstill. To allow students to continue in their program, an ‘alternate practicum pathway’ course was developed to allow students to engage in a simulated agency or community setting to develop or enhance direct practice skills. This paper presents details and the evaluation of this course by 8 cohort BSW students.
