Cultural Learning for Professional Practice in Online Courses

Abstract

This research centres on cultural learning for professional practice on a diverse university student cohort enrolled in first year online courses. Using mixed methods, it investigates student outcomes when including cultural pedagogy into online teaching practices. This also includes investigating the extent in which undergraduates are working towards becoming culturally competent practitioners. Furthermore, through analysis of online surveys, yarning, and student assessment work samples, this study seeks to ascertain just how effective cultural learning for professional practice is within an online space.
