Abstract
Apparently, the disciplinary society glimpsed by Michel Foucault is contradictory with the idea of a self-conformist, docile and functional society raised by Byung-Chul Han, because while in the first the domain is exercised from an external biopower that submits the bodies even against their will, in the second the domination is already inoculated in people, lodged in their consciences. Contrary to this idea, the thesis of this essay argues that both perspectives are perfectly complementary to illustrate what our societies are experiencing in the times of the pandemic.
