Teaching Service Learning with Indoor Gardening in the Circumpolar North

Abstract

In this study, I review teaching notes based on an innovative curriculum, combining service learning with indoor gardening in the circumpolar north. A community engagement project in Anchorage, Alaska serves as a case study exploring the teaching methods of the active learning of food security with and academic competencies of a liberal studies degree program.
