The Migration Crisis in 2015-2016 as a Challenge for the Policy of the State and the Roman Catholic Church in Poland

Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the relationship between political parties and society as well as the Roman Catholic Church in Poland towards the migration crisis (2015-2016), including immigrants and refugees. Sources (legal acts, documents, reports from public opinion polls) as well as scientific and journalistic studies will be analyzed. The first part of the paper discusses the issues of migration in Poland after 1990; in the second - the attitude of the main political parties, state authorities and society towards immigrants and refugees; in the third - the attitude of the Roman Catholic Church to the issues of migration and refugee; in the fourth - the attitude of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland towards the issue of immigrants and refugees.
