A (Re)examination of the Effects of Cross Cultural (Dis)connections in Race, Class, and Christianity During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Controversial issues and concerns have been raised regarding cross cultural disconnections and how to reconnect as one unit in the Christian religion during the novel Covid-19 pandemic and #BlackLivesMatter movement. Indeed, while there are a plethora of denominations within Christianity, many continue to unfortunately place hierarchy on denominations, stereotypical cultural representations of Christianity, and silos within the religion, which ultimately results in a vicious cycle of division among Christians. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to (re)examine the effects of cross cultural (dis)connections in Race, Class, and Christianity through a postcolonial lens in regards to the arts, society, and socioeconomic status. I share findings from my ethnographic research.
