Soul-Empowered Activism Environmental Human Rights Protection: Spiritualized International Human Rights and Sustainable Developmental Law Quantum Praxis

Abstract

Spiritualized International Human Rights and Sustainable Developmental (SIHRD) Law Quantum Praxis serves as a new paradigmatic framework as well as provides an integrative approach toward the goal of environmental human rights protection. SIHRDLaw Quantum Praxis synthesizes human rights and environmental protection into one single coherent concept, i.e., environmental human rights, with the soul as its true foundation. SIHRDLaw Quantum Praxis integrates various disciplines into one unified whole. These include quantum physics, scientific spirituality (as contradistinguished from religion), integrative bodies of international law, especially international human rights law, sustainable development principles, international criminal law, and international humanitarian law or the law of armed conflict, etc. SIHRDLaw Quantum Praxis employs the science and art of dialects in pursuing social transformation through the praxis of Gandhi’s ahimsa and active nonviolence. It pursues what Jose Diokno calls “revolution through law” and developmental legal aid. SIHRDLaw Quantum Praxis aims for people empowerment; hence, the adoption of Paulo Freire’s critical and liberative pedagogy, Grundtvig’s folkschool, and Habermas’s communicative rationality. SIHRDLaw Quantum Praxis points to the development of our soul triumvirate of wisdom-intelligence, lovingkindness-compassion-harmlessness, and goodwill-and-will-to-do-good as the cornerstone of true revolution in its internal and external aspects. It emphasizes the need for character-development, the cultivation of virtues, development of our conscience, and the observance and practice of the Golden Rule as condicio sine qua non for a genuine revolution to empower political, global, corporate, and community leaders, lawyers, academics, scholars, scientists, experts, and various other stakeholders to engage in the praxis of environmental human rights protection.
