Abstract
Is artificial intelligence (AI) a threat to religion? After all, if humans can recreate human intelligence in the form of AI, are we playing God? Many religions tout the concept of the soul as what separates humans from other animals on earth. I, like many others, warn against thinking that AI is capable of replicating humanity. However, as AI continues to exert more of an influence, questions arise. In this study, I consider: What is the future of humanity? Will humans even “need” a God (as in God in a traditional sense)?
