Abstract
This research analyzes the adoption of communications management practices that effect project managers in Colombia, with the performance required in these projects, verifying the influence of the application of this type of practice on indicators of performance in their execution. To carry out this study, leaders of companies from different sectors of Bogotá in Colombia were interviewed under a mixed approach with descriptive scope. It was verified that the practices currently applied have a low adoption rate, but that they are very influential for the success of the project management, recognizing the importance of this type of techniques for the effects of the planned work performance. This study is expected to generate the option of applying non-specific proposals to manage communications in projects, which can improve performance rates in companies that have this work orientation.
