Abstract
One of the necessities in the design of a proper accountability system in an organization is finding effective factors in the first place. The present study first pointed out one of the most important factors affecting organizational responsiveness, namely knowledge absorptive capacity, which is considered as one of the main abilities of an organization that plays an important role in organizational success regarding responsiveness to environmental changes. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between knowledge absorptive capacity and organizational responsiveness while considering the mediating role of strategic orientation. In this regard, three defensive, forward-looking, and analysis dimensions were considered to assess strategic orientation. The statistical population included senior managers, deputies and informed individuals in medium and large manufacturing industries in Mashhad, Iran. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling and partial least squares regression. Results of analysis of the questionnaires distributed among eighty participants by PLS showed a positive, significant relationship between knowledge absorptive capacity and organizational responsiveness. However, the mediating role of defensive orientation, analysis, and forward-looking in the relationship between knowledge absorptive capacity and organizational responsiveness was not approved.
