The Beauty of the Invisible: Applying Open-Source Learning Principles to Strategic Planning & Knowledge Transfer

Abstract

Learning is one of the most beautiful things we do as human beings. Organizational learning is traditionally a closed system; opening the source and function of that system encourages individual and systemic integrity, creates communities around bonds of support and critique, strengthens brand awareness and outreach efforts, and accelerates and amplifies learning by creating thousands of discrete media artifacts online, which in turn may be analyzed for future use and refinement. The beauty of learning becomes evident for all to see in the design, process, and outcomes. Participants in this workshop will take away a conceptual model of Open-Source Learning, and free, easy-to-use strategies and tools they may immediately apply to organizational processes and their own personal and professional development.
