Abstract
The curreny dynamic environment in which organizations are operating forces most of them to choose between whether to adapt or to perish. However, if excellence and market leadership are to be achieved then adaptation is far from being the only or the best option. Through continuous relevant successful transformations, ambitious, and talented organizations try to rather disrupt their environment instead of adapting to its unpredictable, volatile, and complex fluctuations. Transformation programs under the project management approach are generally implemented top-down. So, while managers plan and implement, employees adopt, facilitate, or resist transformation. In this study, transformation management is analyzed from an employee’s perspective. In this case, a survey of a workplace transformation project of an Arab news channel has is considered. The primary data collection campaign was done at the level of employees. ADKAR-Prosci model for change was chosen to assess many aspects of transformation management, such as readiness and capacity. Factor analysis of the collected data has shown that awareness is three times as important as the rest of ADKAR steps for transformation i.e., A=3(DKAR) in terms of importance. It has also been found that employees of the newsroom of Z999 channel are ready and capable of coping with transformation, yet lack some awareness about the objectives. The lack of awareness about the objectives of the transformation is linked to the unclear project vision.
