Knowlledge Creation and Agility as a Competitive Advantage: Mobilizing People in a Turbulent World

Abstract

Academics worldwide are exploring ways to make research more accessible to practitioners and students who are not working for an advanced degree. The author has received numerous awards for research in the field of knowledge creation and organizational agility, and has been exploring ways to convert that research into methods and tools that are useful to practitioners, and also to convert research into forms designed for the undergraduate student. The presenter has made his and other relevant research available to undergraduate students, and worked the research into lectures for several years. However, few undergraduate students read the research papers, and fewer still were able to understand the concepts. Those who did and applied those concepts have received excellent jobs and outperformed in their chosen careers. This paper will be a sharing of how the author converted multiple research papers into a book suitable for undergraduate students and practitioners, and introduced academic theory from multiple sources to undergraduate students, and developed methods and tools that are useful to business executives. Integrating academic research with practice is an important objective of scholars worldwide, and this presentation will explore multiple avenues to achieve this, and solicit feedback from attendees in search of other ways to facilitate integration of scholarly research with practice.
