An Examination of Organisational Culture of Vietnamese and Chinese Working Adults in Light of Task and Relationship Orientations

Abstract

In the global business world, organisational culture is a popular topic. This study inspects organisational cultures of Vietnam and China. The main research question is whether Vietnamese working adults are similar or dissimilar to Chinese counterparts on task and relationship orientations. In total, 498 Chinese and Vietnamese respondents participated. Specifically, the results from the data conclude that Vietnamese working adults had a firmly higher score on task orientation than Chinese counterparts. There were not any coherent factors regarding relationship orientation in this study. Finally, the negative attitude was a surprising factor that would need to be further analysed in the future. Implications, limitations, and recommendation for future research are considered.
