Abstract
This workshop highlights events in the current political climate that have impacted various identities as they intersect with work and workplace culture, with a specific emphasis on the me too movement and the rise of hate crimes and hate speech. Participants are invited to identify their various privileged and marginalized identities using the identity wheel. Participants then write down anonymously on a note card 1-2 phrases that describe the impact the sociopolitical climate has had on their professional lives and workplace culture. These anonymous responses will be read out loud by the facilitator and participants will be invited to share reactions and notice common themes, patterns, and how experiences may differ based on intersecting identities. The concepts of stress and resiliency in the workplace is considered. Specific strategies for developing resiliency are shared. Participants will have the opportunity to create a written resiliency plan for the workplace to take with them and will be encouraged to share resources with one another.
