How Indigenous Epistemology Informs Pedagogy

Abstract

This paper explores an Indigenous orientation to pedagogical knowledge. It considers how Indigenous epistemology and ontology can be used to design learning experiences. It focuses on instructional strategies used to teach culturally relevant pedagogy from an Indigenous perspective. It includes approaches to teaching Indigenous spirituality. This paper is based on personal and professional knowledge as an Indigenous educator.
