Abstract
This qualitative case study features the experiences of one participant who was part of a larger study of non-traditional students attending a Career Pathways Program. Data stemmed from interviews, observations, and surveys and offered insight into how one high-risk student thrived despite her socioeconomic challenges, family issues, and traumas experienced during childhood. This study underscores that college is possible even for adults who return to school after many years.
