Work Allegiance of Food Service Workforce in Iloilo City

Abstract

The work commitment of food service workers in Iloilo City over the calendar year 2021-2022 was the main subject of this descriptive study. The 200 respondents were picked from a convenience sampling pool of restaurant service employees. The data collection tool utilized in this study to assess the job commitment of food service employees was adapted from (Quimba 2003). Inferential analysis was performed using the Mann Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests, as well as the median and standard deviation analysis. At 0.05 alpha, the level of significance was established. The statistical software for the social sciences was used to execute all calculations (SPSS). The results show that the food service staff in Iloilo City’s various restaurants had a very high degree of work dedication. When they are categorized according to their age, those under 25 and those over 25 have very high levels of work dedication. Males are defined as having a high degree of work commitment, and women are classified as having a very high level of work commitment. High School level, High School graduate, and college level have extremely high levels of work commitment, and college level has a high level of work commitment when they are categorized according to their educational attainment. Lastly, when classified according to their age, sex, and level of education, food service workers in Iloilo City showed no discernible differences in their level of dedication to their jobs.
