Agrotourism as an Alternative for Development

Abstract

Rural tourism comes from the need to search for different vacation experiences by tourists, becoming a possibility of tourist activity that contemplates cultural, natural and emotional aspects in contrast to the growth of large urban centers that, consequently, affects daily life. of people. This work proposes to analyze the feasibility of implementing Agrotourism in the São João Settlement in Palmas/TO, taking into account the agricultural and livestock activities already existing in the place, diagnosing the interest of residents/producers in starting a new branch of business as a complementary way. and income aggregator in the community. To meet the objective of the study, a qualitative research was carried out, using structured and face-to-face interviews. As a result, it was found that the residents of the settlement were positively motivated to implement the tourist segment, most of them see the implementation as an opportunity for economic growth for the place and families.
