Abstract
Jammu and Kashmir are an important tourist destination for leisure and other unexplored tourism resources. The present paper analyses the present and future scenario of the emerging dimensions of tourism like eco-tourism, adventure tourism, rural tourism and leisure tourism in Jammu and Kashmir as its tourist products. It further scrutinizes the influence of tourism and leisure on the daily life of people. The present study is principally descriptive in nature and is based on the secondary sources of information. Secondary data has been collected from articles, magazines, newspapers, books, etc. Also, the ancillary data was collected from the department of tourism Jammu and Kashmir. The findings of the study reveal that tourism sector has a major share in the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir. There are other types of tourism with immense scope like leisure, eco, adventure and rural tourism but still the potential of these have not been fully harnessed. This area is endowed with breath taking beauty and leisure tourism has been attracting the local and foreign tourists to enjoy the natural and serene beauty of Kashmir which in turn generates revenue, employment opportunities, and overall economic development of the region.
