Mohanlal Bulsara's Travelogues: A Literary Response from South Africa on India's Tourist Attractions

Abstract

This research looks at Mohanlal Bulsara’s travel writings published in annual Gujarati magazines in South Africa. South African Gujaratis have enriched their Indian travelling experiences whenever they have toured Indian tourist attractions. Being Indian, these travellers are aware of history, culture, and social insights. With this consciousness, Bulsara has created a series of travelogues on his visits to India. This study examines his response to the conditions of the places visited. Through this analysis, the paper identifies a writer’s guide to responsible tourism, concerns over tourist environments, and maintaining natural designs of places he visited. Such discussions, then, leads to unfolding the common behavioural patterns of internal tourists in India.
