Abstract
This study examines attitudes towards small scale ecotourism development as a means for environmental conservation of indigenous rainforest tracks in Brazil. Studies have shown that tribal lands are more successful than national parks in preserving forest and yet pressures mount. Tourism is seen as a way to aid in preserving the lifestyle, culture and natural resources. Residents of the community share their views of their culture, tourism and how it could benefit in preservation. Steps towards tourism consultation and development are discussed.
