Radar Project : “Speak. Listen. Care."

Abstract

The longevity of the population currently represents one of the greatest events in human history and one of the greatest challenges of the twenty-first century. The creation and maintenance of favorable and facilitating contexts for increasing longevity are indispensable in promoting the well-being of the population 65+. The challenges and dilemmas of longevity are overcome when different natures (political, economic, health, scientific, and social) come together and jointly develop a positive and broader culture towards people aged 65 and over. Sharing expectations and potential, which, through the digital platform developed for this purpose, puts pressure on services to improve them. The paradigm shift requires intersectoral cooperation in a transversal and partnership logic. This operating methodology is based in systemic vision and seeks to counteract excessive individualization in performance, encouraging networking and greater participation in the preparation of programs and plans. The Platform also allows for the continuity of the Project, allowing each partner to integrate new referrals, information related to screening calls, and insert records of the last visits and / or home visits, according to the requirement of each situation. Its development and progress gains coherence, training, consistency and complexity, through networking. The Radar Project is committed to assuming an attitude of valuing and promoting the dignity of 65+ people, by involving them in issues that concern them, in a logic of citizenship and participation. It asserts itself as a project that distinguishes its most important resources: people; because Radar is made of people, with people and for people.
