Abstract

Maybe you are a professional caretaker, or maybe you are like me in your mid or late 50s and life suddenly hits you. Mom takes a fall; dad has a stroke, or your spouse maybe diagnosed with dementia and your life just stops in its tracks. You may be thinking of retirement, or you are in the midst of your midlife changes and are building a new life or a new business… Whatever the plans you so beautifully created they are halted indefinitely… First, the adrenaline kicks in and takes you through the motions and you are probably acing the immediate steps. But in a couple of days you are hit with the reality that THIS IS your new life! You say… no problem, I was counting on this, after all my parents are older, but did you? Did you really count on never having an undisturbed minute for yourself especially if you are caring for someone with dementia? Truth is…NO! We are not well prepared… This is where this session will help you. You will learn how not only control your emotions, but to find calm, loving purpose in your new life. You will learn the three keys to communicating with those you are caring for, so they will DO WHAT YOU ASK them to do. And finally, you will learn an incredibly simple yet powerful calming technique that will allow you to do what you were called to do with an acceptance and love in your heart.
