Abstract
This study presents a comparative analysis of learning management approaches for local geography education in Thailand, focusing on the traditional curriculum and place-based education. The research investigates how these approaches are implemented in schools across different regions of Thailand and examines their effectiveness in engaging students with their local environment and cultural heritage. Through qualitative interviews with teachers from each region, the study explores the pedagogical strategies, curriculum content, and community engagement practices associated with each approach. The findings reveal the strengths and limitations of traditional and place-based education in fostering environmental stewardship and cultural appreciation among students. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on innovative teaching practices for local geography education. It provides insights for teachers and policymakers seeking to enhance the quality and relevance of geography education in Thailand.
