Abstract
“Tawak” also known as direct suction by stone traditionally practice in folk medicine. The study was conducted to evaluate the practices of alternative healing seeking on handling animal bites in the Municipality of Balagtas, Bulacan. The methods used in the study are a combination of quantitative and qualitative research, including a survey with those experienced at handling animal bites that are useful to obtain output for the study. The result of the study shows that some residents of the Barangays in Balagtas, Bulacan are still adhering to the practice of “tawak.”
