Abstract

This paper examines displacement and refugee issues in the Nepal in the backdrop of migration as evolutionary approach of human development and societies. Employing quantitative and qualitative data and information, the paper employs descriptive statistics and correlation test. As a result, displacement and refugee are visible as dynamic issues having socioeconomic and political nexus. These issues are not significant but continuous to be significance. The study finds these issues as the result of exogenous and indigenous factors. Displacement is due to endogenous shock. However, refugee is due to the political crisis in the neighbor countries and promoted by geo-political openness, system failure and socioeconomic homogeneity. Finally, the paper identifies vulnerability due to displacement and refugee. Since the degree of vulnerability in refugee is greater than displaced people, the refugee has unintended and unplanned socioeconomic and political jerks to the destination country.
