Deadly Knowledge Deficits: Biochemical Pathologies and Mental Illness

Abstract

This paper examines the largely neglected scientific literature on the relationship between nutritional or essential vitamin deficiencies and psychiatric disturbances. The paper outlines the reasons for this glaring and deadly knowledge deficit within mainstream medical approaches, the life-threatening consequences of this medical neglect, and suggestions for life-saving policy changes. The paper discusses the evidence which indicates pathophysiological problems can strike at any age, highlighting a largely ignored scientific fact that places the population at risk of iatrogenic problems and/or premature morbidity.
