Documentary and Educational Film as a Way of Creating and Transmitting Understanding about the Holocaust

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to focus on a postmodernist approach to narration in the documentary and educational film about the heritage of the Holocaust. It uses a metaphorical way of thinking combining perspectives from past, present, and future, etc. As examples, two educational films are considered: one about the women’s camp in Ravensbrück and the other focused on the men’s camp in Mauthausen-Gusen as well as educational materials attached to them.
