Abstract
Taking care of a family member with Alzheimer’s disease is an hard and long journey. In this study, we consider situations that are heterogeneous. There are moments of breaks, steps to take, discontinuities, and unfortunately an end to this journey. Here, we see that depending on the situation (children or spouse, the caregiver’s gender, etc.), the individual’s enrollment in a system of help within the community, and the family support: the help and the intensity can be very different. We review how this caregiving situation is above all a situation of interdependence between different actors: professionals, the family, and the person with Alzheimer’s.
