Abstract

With the aspiration to contribute to the construction of a theoretical knowledge body to help us understand and explain the operation of organized civil society, we propose the conception of « effective social action » to adopt it as an analytical construct that gives special relevance to the knowledge used by the organized groups for the problem resolution. For this study, we analyzed the effective social action made by the non-profit civil society organizations in Arequipa city, Peru. The utility lies in knowing the differential objectives that motivate the associated organizations with the challenges and difficulties that represents the socio-historical context.
