Abstract

The main aim of the current study involves the exploration of digital skills within the schools of Primary Education in the Prefecture of Cyclades. The sub-objectives, which also constitute the research questions of this study, are: a) What is the role of school leadership in the development of digital skills in the school units? b) How far do teachers concur with respect to cooperation in their school units? c) To what extent do teachers agree as far as facilities and equipment of school units are concerned? and d) Is there a degree of differentiation among teachers’ statements concerning the gender of school leadership? The present study is of quantitative nature and derives its samples from systematic sampling, a method of probability sampling. A major result of this research refers to the establishment of opportunities for developing the digital skills of the school units, particularly within the field of facilities and technological equipment in the educational units of Primary Education. In addition, the need for further use of digital technologies by educators was identified both for developing their own cooperation/networking and for employing them in the teaching process.
