Abstract
Creativity is often considered a uniquely human feature and the highest form of intelligence. However, the rise of AI and its accelerating rate of development and achievement raises these questions: Is creativity still uniquely human? Are humans better at creating than any other creatures? This paper reviews AI creativity achievements, the literature on conditions for human creativity, particularly the need for free association and quantity of ideas, and juxtaposes these conditions to AI capability. I argue that AI has key advantages regarding these core and foundational conditions of creativity over humans, but AI will not replace humans because of its limit on making judgments. The paper ends with a discussion on the implication of such analysis and a forecast of the possible future of creativity.
